SUPER SIMPLE ART THEORY LESSONS FOR KIDS!

Updated: Apr 13, 2019

LESSON: I love to inspire children to read and to love art, because it opens up a world that they might, otherwise, not have access to in their life experience. The COLOR WHEEL helps to remind artists how the primary colors (red, blue and yellow) go together to create the secondary colors (orange, green and violet).

INTRODUCTION: I usually try, whenever possible, to use books to introduce concepts and "Mix It Up" and "Mouse Paint" are two of my favorites for mixing colors.

FLOWER COLOR WHEEL ACTIVITY:

DIRECTIONS: Children can color the center of the flower with primary colors. Then they can color mix red and yellow on six petals, blue and yellow, and red and blue. YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR FREE FLOWER WHEEL PRINTABLE AFTER SUBSCRIBING BELOW! ENJOY!

COLOR MIXING SNACK IDEA;

DIRECTIONS: Make red, yellow and blue frosting (canned frosting works great) and let kids mix colors to frost graham crackers.

Enjoy and Blessings!
