LESSON: I love to inspire children to read and to love art, because it opens up a world that they might, otherwise, not have access to in their life experience. The COLOR WHEEL helps to remind artists how the primary colors (red, blue and yellow) go together to create the secondary colors (orange, green and violet).
INTRODUCTION: I usually try, whenever possible, to use books to introduce concepts and "Mix It Up" and "Mouse Paint" are two of my favorites for mixing colors.
FLOWER COLOR WHEEL ACTIVITY:

COLOR MIXING SNACK IDEA;
DIRECTIONS: Make red, yellow and blue frosting (canned frosting works great) and let kids mix colors to frost graham crackers.
