CELEBRATING THE ART OF REBECCA GREEN

I really enjoy Rebeca's artwork! There is something both nostalgic and moving about it. She works in several types of mediums, but I especially like her gouache art. I just happened upon one of her illustrations and liked it so much, that I thought I would give gouache a try. If you would like to know more about gouache, visit my previous post, The difference between gouache and watercolor. It has now become my medium of choice combined with colored pencil. Here is an example of one of my illustrations in gouache.

SOME OF RECECCA'S BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED CHILDREN'S BOOKS:

She both wrote and illustrated this adorable children's book.

I love her choice of colors for this children's book by Lisa Robinson.

Her muted backgrounds really add a special quality.

  • Another very cool project that she has completed recently is a collaboration with the Japanese art supply company, Holbein, on a 12 color collection of her favorite acrylic gouache paints. She also created the illustrations on the boxed set. You can order it through Blick Art Materials.

  • She also has a fun gouache tutorial called PAINTING SPICES
