As a parent, grandparent and educator, I am passionate about inspiring kids to get out of the house, to get away from their phones, and to explore and connect to NATURE. Nature has been a part of my life from the time I grew up in my little town surrounded by the river and nature, to now living in the woods with my own family.
The love of nature has sustained us in hard times, offered all kinds of active learning experiences, hobbies for our family, and brought great joy into our life! I have a concern that kids are spending far too much time passively looking at screens. However, I do encourage and believe technology can supplement nature study, especially when indoors (if it is rainy or during such times as Covid).
